Terms of service
Version: 28 October 2026. These terms and conditions apply to consumer purchases from Atelier RLF through atelier-rlf.com. You can save or print this page. These terms do not restrict your statutory consumer rights.

2. Our artworks
Each artwork has information about its available sizes, price and characteristics. Read this before ordering. Handmade works may have small differences in texture and finish. Photographs and screens may reproduce colours differently. This does not affect your right to an artwork that conforms to the contract.
Questions about a size, colour or finish? Contact us before ordering. The two panels of a diptych together form the offered artwork; the product information determines which dimensions apply to the selected option.
3. Ordering and confirmation
You place an order by completing the checkout steps and confirming your order with an obligation to pay. Check your details and selected option. You will receive confirmation by email. Notify us as soon as possible of any error in your details.
The contract is formed when you accept our offer by placing your order. Obvious errors do not bind us if you could reasonably have understood that a mistake had been made. If an ordered artwork unexpectedly becomes unavailable, we will inform you and refund the relevant amount. You do not have to accept a replacement artwork.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are displayed in euros, including any applicable taxes. Any shipping charges are shown at checkout before placing the order. You will see the total before ordering. We do not charge additional costs without your agreement. You pay using a method available at checkout. The terms of a separately selected payment service may apply to that service; your statutory rights against Atelier RLF remain unaffected.
5. Shipping and delivery
Available destinations, shipping costs and expected delivery times are stated with the order and in our shipping policy. We can only offer a destination not available at checkout by separate arrangement. We agree on any costs and delivery time before you commit to a purchase.
We deliver to the address provided. The risk of loss or damage on the outbound journey remains with us until you, or a third party you designate who is not the carrier, receives the artwork. If you choose a carrier we do not offer, the statutory rules for that situation apply.
We will inform you of delays. Unless we agree otherwise, we deliver within 30 days at the latest. If delivery is late, you may give us a reasonable additional period and then terminate the purchase if delivery still does not occur. Where the law permits, for example if an essential delivery date was agreed beforehand, you may terminate immediately.
6. Cooling-off period and withdrawal
For an online purchase, you generally have a 14-day cooling-off period starting on the day after receipt. For separate deliveries from one order, this period starts after receipt of the last item. You can also withdraw before receipt. You do not need to give a reason.
Clearly notify us within the cooling-off period that you wish to withdraw. You can use Withdraw from your order on our returns page, email us or use the downloadable return form available there. The form is not compulsory; another clear statement is sufficient. For an online notification, you will receive a confirmation you can retain.
Then send the artwork back within 14 days of your withdrawal notification to Atelier RLF, Zandstraat 1, 6591 DA Gennep, Netherlands.
7. Return shipping and costs
For an ordinary return during the cooling-off period, you arrange and pay for return shipping yourself. Atelier RLF does not provide a free return label or free collection service for this. Choose a suitable carrier and pack the artwork carefully to protect it in transit. Preferably use the original packaging or equally protective packaging. Not having the original packaging does not in itself invalidate your withdrawal.
Return costs depend on dimensions, weight and the chosen carrier. Obtain a quote beforehand; larger artworks may require specialist transport. We recommend proof of postage and, where appropriate, tracking or suitable transit insurance. Keep evidence of your return shipment.
You may view and examine an artwork as you could in a shop. We may hold you liable under the statutory rules only for diminished value caused by excessive use or careless handling. Your statutory rights for a defect, transit damage or an incorrectly supplied work are not covered by the agreement that you pay for an ordinary return yourself.
8. Refunds
After withdrawal, we refund the amounts due within 14 days of your notification. We may wait until we receive the artwork or you provide evidence of return, whichever happens first. We use the same payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, and do not charge a refund fee.
If you return your entire order, we also refund the standard outbound delivery charges paid. We do not have to refund extra costs for a more expensive delivery method. For a partial return, we refund outbound delivery charges insofar as required by law. Return shipping arranged by you remains your responsibility in an ordinary withdrawal.
9. Personalised works
A statutory exception to the cooling-off period may apply only to artworks genuinely made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised. If applicable, we clearly inform you before ordering. Choosing from offered standard sizes or standard options does not automatically mean you lose your right of withdrawal.
10. Damage, statutory conformity rights and complaints
You are entitled to an artwork that meets what was agreed and what you can reasonably expect. If you receive a damaged, incorrect or faulty artwork, contact info@atelier-rlf.com. Preferably include your order number and photographs where possible so that we can help effectively. This information helps us but is not an unreasonable additional condition for your statutory rights.
If an artwork does not conform to the contract, we offer an appropriate remedy at no cost in accordance with the law, such as repair or replacement. If the statutory conditions are met, you may request a price reduction or termination. We cover the necessary costs of a justified conformity remedy. Please discuss the return method with us first in that situation. A statutory conformity claim is not limited to the 14-day cooling-off period.
If you have another complaint, let us know. We handle complaints carefully and try to find a solution together. Your right to bring a dispute before the competent court remains unaffected.
11. Privacy and image rights
Our privacy policy explains how we process personal data. Purchasing an artwork does not transfer copyright or other intellectual property rights unless separately agreed in writing. Use permitted by law remains possible.
12. Applicable law and changes
Dutch law applies to the contract. This choice does not deprive you of mandatory protection you may have as a consumer under the law of your habitual residence. New versions of these terms apply to future orders and do not change an existing contract without a valid basis. If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue to apply and both parties retain their statutory rights.
